Rumpler Eindecker
Although a pre-war design, as were all Taube types, many Rumpler Taubes saw service use during the early months of the war on reconnaissance duties. Not strictly a true Taube, the machine illustrated above was photographed at Karlsruhe in March 1912, and veteran airman Hellmuth Hirth occupies the rear cockpit, with Lt. Schoeller in front. Engine, 100 h.p. Mercedes D I.

Rumpler Taube 1913

In addition to engines, propellers, and miscellaneous parts, the LA purchased one 1913 Rumpler Taube from the defunct Autoplan Werke in April 1914. Although flown as a trainer at Flugpark 14, the Taube did not receive a military designation. It was damaged on 29 May and again on 4 June 1914. Whether it remained active after this date is not known.
